The AWA has been very busy the past couple of weeks!
It was wonderful to see such a big crowd at the PALS Spring Soiree Fashion Show on 18 September - what a lovely evening!! Thank you so very much to Lisa Capper and Anna Field for putting on a great event!

The Rupert event with the MTC on 20 September was also a great success. Thank you to Masoomeh Wake and Marla Coffin for planning this special night!

I attended the Combined Auxiliaries Meeting at the RCH on 20 September and learned all about the many wonderful things that other RCH auxiliaries are currently doing to raise funds and socialise. Auxiliaries Coordinator, Craig Wright, reported that in the first six months of the year the Auxiliaries have raised $867,000 in revenue! What a great success! Sue Hunt, the Executive Director of the RCH Foundation, also reported on new undertakings of the Foundation including describing the funding proposal process at the RCH and introducing the RCH Foundation's new association with Bendigo Bank. Attending Combined Auxiliary events is a great way to learn about how the AWA fits into the bigger framework at the RCH and meet some of the wonderful women (and men) involved in the other RCH auxiliaries. I highly encourage all of you to attend Combined Auxiliaries events throughout the year! A few to put on your calendar include: the RCH Auxiliaries Christmas Party on 26 November 2013 at Crown Casino, the Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Luncheon on 18 March 2014 and the Combined Auxiliary Meeting in April 2014. More information about all of these events will be available closer to the relevant dates on the AWA website.

As you all know, this month is our BIGGEST EVENT OF THE YEAR - the AWA Halloween Extravaganza on Sunday 27 October from 2pm - 5pm at Elsternwick Cricket Ground! I hope you have all purchased your tickets online and are spreading the word to all of your friends, family and other contacts about the big day! We are still seeking volunteers for this event - please contact Ginette at halloween@awamelbourne.org if you are willing to volunteer. Also, a HUGE thank you to Ginette Gremillet, Chairperson of the Halloween Committee, who is working very hard to make sure all is perfect for the big day!!! Thanks Ginette - you are doing a fantastic job!!!

In the meantime, hope to see many of you at the Night Meeting this Wednesday, 2 October, at Transit at Federation Square.
