Volunteering at the RCH
In order to work at the hospital you must have a working with children check card.
Starlight Craft Room
Brighten the day of a sick child!
On the first Monday of every month, AWA has committed to provide three to
four volunteers to the Starlight Room. This is a place where patients and
their siblings, parents or other carers can take a break and create
something special. AWA provides volunteers and craft supplies for a few
hours of activities that are sure to bring a smile to everyone's face.
The Starlight Room is located on the ground floor of the hospital.

Gift Shop
The AWA has a monthly commitment to assist employees in the Gift Shop at the Royal Children's Hospital. AWA's current commitment to the Gift Shop is for two people from 10am-1pm on the last Thursday of the month.
With each shift needing two AWA volunteers, you could sign up with an old friend or meet a new friend when you arrive. You will have fun learning to work the register, restocking greeting cards and helping shoppers with purchasing decisions. There's always a permanent worker who knows the ropes...So don't be shy!

The AWA would like to thank Cheryl Barrow for coordinating the AWA Gift Shop commitment, as well as Kathy Agoos and Helen Mann for their dedication and hard work over the past ten years. It has been invaluable and very much appreciated.
