 2009 Independence Day Celebration
Only a few days until our Independence Day Celebration on Saturday June 20th, 2009 at Bobby Mcgee's at Rydges Hotel. There are tickets available, but you must quickly to reserve your space.
You can purchase your tickets right now by visiting www.awamelbourne.org Just click on the Independence Day Celebration link under the photo. Once there you can use Paypal or your credit card to pay. You may also book by phone by calling Teri on 9846-3162.
We need your support to make this event a success. We are very close to raising the funds needed to purchase the Jaegar Babybody Lung Function equipment desperately needed by the RCH Cystic Fibrosis Research Team. Join us in making this goal a reality for Victoria's children suffering from this debilitating disease.
The evening commences at 7pm with a roaming dinner and cash bar. Dress is smart casual. Tickets are $55 per person for an evening of food, entertainment, dancing and an amazing array of auction items including Aboriginal art work from Outback Aboriginal Art, Restaurant, Spa vouchers and Hampers from many of Melbourne's best locations. Eastern Memory Makers
Join in on the scrapbooking fun on June 23rd at Cheryl's house in Camberwell. Drop in between 9:30 am until 3 pm. Coffee, tea and snacks are provided, BYO your own lunch. Come and share the fun and get the pages done! RSVP to Cheryl for table space.
1 Gift Shop Volunteer Needed
One more volunteer is urgently needed for the 10-1 shift on Thursday, 25 June. Besides spending time getting acquainted with another AWA member, volunteers assist the shop manager at the checkout counter and help customers with gift selection. No previous experience required! I look forward to hearing from you!
We are actively seeking a member willing to take the RCH Gift Shop Coordinator position in August. If you are interested in helping the AWA perform this valuable service, yes, we do raise funds for the hospital with our hours. Please contact Caron or Lisa to volunteer!
Membership Renewals –Due now!
It is time to renew your annual AWA membership! Please take a few minutes to pay the annual membership fees and update your membership profile as this keeps us updated with your contact details, volunteering availability and social activities interests. You can do this online at http://www.awamelbourne.org using the following instructions:
- Log on to the AWA website with your username and password.
- Click on Membership, located in the top-right hand of the webpage.
- Click on Membership Renewals.
- Click on Update your Membership Profile and make appropriate changes. Don’t forget to click on each tab to update contact details, volunteering and social activity preferences and subscribe to the Stars & Stripes E-Newsletter.
- Then, make your payment of $50 (there is an additional $2 surcharge if paying online via PayPal).
If you’d rather not renew online, you can fill out the American Women’s Auxiliary Membership Application form which is at the back of the AWAre magazine. Mail the completed form along with a check or AWA Credit Card Form (also located at the back of the AWAre magazine) to American Women’s Auxiliary, PO Box 237 , Toorak, VIC 3142.
Please note that a $10 late fee will be incurred on all renewals received after August 1st.
