Thanksgiving Dinner Photos
We have wonderful pictures taken at the Thanksgiving Dinner 2008 available for sale on the AWA website. The photos are available in a variety of sizes and will be shipped to your home for a minimal fee. Visit www.awamelbourne.org and log in. Click on the major fundraisers tab at the top and go to Thanksgiving. The photo gallery and ordering information are located there.
 Valentine's Day Cocktail Party
Please join us for the Valentine's Day Cocktail Party graciously hosted by our Consulate General Michael Thurston and his wife Sabine Lang Thurston. This delightful soiree will be held on Saturday February 14th, 2009 from 6-8 pm at the Consul General's home located in Toorak. The cost for the evening is $20 per person. Save the Date 2009 AWA Independence Day Gala
Mark your calendars in red, white and blue for Saturday June 20th, 2009 for a spectacular evening of fun and festivities at the AWA Independence Day Gala. If you are interested in getting involved or if you may be able to provide an item for our Silent Auction, we would love to hear from you! Please contact Tenille or Jennifer for more information.
Gift Shop News
Make a new AWA friend in 2009 by volunteering at the Royal Children’s Hospital Gift Shop! Absolutely no experience is required! Volunteers assist the shop manager at the checkout counter and help customers with gift selection from a wide variety of delightful merchandise. Four AWA volunteers staff the gift shop on the fourth Thursday of each month. Volunteers are needed for January 22, February 26, March 26 and April 23. Volunteers may choose to work the morning shift from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. or the afternoon shift from 1-4 p.m. Please contact Caron if you would like to spend a rewarding few hours helping out in the RCH gift shop.
Wine Appreciation Gals
Meet us on Thursday January 22nd at the Prahan Market courtyard for lunch and red wine tasting at Swords from 11:30 am until 2pm. The tasting is free and lunch will be your cost. Contact Shoshana or Heide on 04-3875-7676.
Bayside Memory Makers
Lots of holiday photos? Join us on Wednesday February 4th from 10 am until 2 pm to get a headstart on your scrapbooking efforts. Lunch is BYO and morning tea will be provided. Please RSVP to Carolyn if you would like to attend.
All Things Gourmet
Join our gourmet lunch group by contacting Miyuki for a recipe to prepare and for the location. Your efforts will be worth every minute, the menus and dishes are legendary! The lunch will be held on Wednesday February 4th at 12 noon.
