November Focus
 Thanksgiving Celebration Fundraiser
Members should have received their E-vite for our Thanksgiving celebration at the International of Brighton on Sunday November 23rd from 4-8 pm. As always, there will be a turkey on every table with all the traditional trimmings. Tickets are $65/adult and $35/child. Children under 3 are free.
Why not RSVP today? The deadline to purchase tickets, pies and cookie collections is November 7th.
All proceeds from the Silent Auction and our 2nd annual Christmas Tree Raffle will go to purchase equipment for the RCH Cystic Fibrosis Team. For the kids, there will be a great activities area and a very special guest!
We are offering yummy, homemade pumpkin pies and cookies for sale. Our sponsor, Auscellar Door, is offering a holilday wine sale with many choices for all your holiday and giftgiving needs. 10% of the wine sale proceeds will go directly to RCH Equipment.
There are 3 convenient ways to purchase your tickets:

 Oo-la-la! C'est Class Acts!
Please join us for an Oo-la-la evening with French dinner and theater on Saturday, November 8. We'll start with cocktails at 5:30 pm and dinner at 6pm. at Chez Olivier, followed by Marie Antoinette-The Colour of Flesh at 8 pm at the Red Stitch Theater. The show is $30 per person.  Thai Anyone?
The Out 2 Lunch Bunch will be sampling the contemporary Thai cuisine at Longrain on Thursday November 13, at 12:30 pm. Longrain is located at 44 Little Bourke St, Melbourne so there is lots of good people watching while we munch! We will be enjoying a 6 course family-style feast so wear something stretchy! Movie Night Group will be meeting to see one of Melbourne's best movie offerings on November 11th. Click on Kalene to find out what is on offer this month.
Gourmet Lunch Group

 Coffee & Cookie Exchange
This is a chance to share delectable baked treats just before the holiday season. Join your AWA friends at Gillian Strattman's home in Toorak on Friday November 21 at 10 am for our annual coffee and cookie exchange. Glass of Red or White?
Those Wine Appreciation Ladies are at it again in November! Join us for a gathering at one of Melbourne's great wine bars, Red Vault on Tuesday November 25th at 6 pm. Please note the correct date! Come enjoy a glass or share a bottle with some cheese as we discuss wine and whatever we feel like! Red Vault is located at 37-39 Chapel St, Windsor. It's a short walk from the Windsor train station or tram stop #32 Chapel St/Dandenong Rd. The cost will be up to individual orders. RSVP to Shoshana. It's in the mail! We appreciate your patience in receiving the November/December issue. In order to include the Halloween party pics. it will be a few days later than normal. We hope you will find it is worth the wait!
The AWAre Team's newest member is Leslie Coote as the Assistant Editor. Thanks Leslie! With your help, we can quickly fill our 2 vacancies:
1) Mailing Coordinator-- the printer delivers the magazines and labels to your home, and you simply stuff the envelopes and take them to the Post office
2) "Question of the Month" writer who will create a question for each magazine issue, then compile members' responses.
We hope to find volunteers for these positions before our Jan/Feb issue so get involved and have some fun! Click on Tracee if you would like to be a part of the AWAre.
RCH Gift Shop News
It's time to schedule our 2009 gift shop volunteers. We need volunteers to help in the gift shop for the following Thursdays from 10 am-1pm or from 1-4 pm: January 22, February 26 and March 26. Please contact Caron Jacobs to volunteer for one of these shifts, no experience necessary -- you will be trained!
