 RESERVATIONS NEEDED NOW FOR THE UPCOMING AWA VALENTINE'S DAY PARTY!
Our first big social event for 2008 is coming up fast and all AWA members are strongly encouraged to RSVP now! The Valentine's Day party will be held between 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, February 14th at the home of Earl and Jeanne Irving, who have once again graciously agreed to host. All RSVPs need to be received by Thursday, February 7th! This party is becoming an AWA annual tradition and has been thoroughly enjoyed by AWA members in the past.  NEXT COFFEE MORNING SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22ND!
The next coffee morning will be held on Friday, February 22nd at Teri Abraham's home. This is a great way to connect with old friends and make some new friends as well! Please RSVP Teri here.
On a side note, the coffee morning coordinator, Julie Madison, will be leaving in March to return home to the U.S. If any of our members are interested in taking over Julie's position, please contact Heather Ali here. The main responsibility of the coffee morning coordinator is to organize hosts for the monthly AWA coffees.
 SIGN UP NOW FOR THE AWA/GRACE CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT IN MARCH!
The AWA/Grace Charity Golf Tournament has proven to be one of our most popular fundraisers for the Royal Children's Hospital. We have the maximum number of players confirmed but still welcome AWA members to join us for dinner ($80.00 per person). We also need volunteers to help on the day and/or evening. Matt Tilley of FOX FM Gotcha Calls will be playing and there will be fantastic auction items up for grabs. All proceeds will benefit the Opthamology Department at the Royal Children's Hospital. Key Positions Open to AWA Members! With the new year, new opportunities are opening up in the AWA organization. To maximize our fundraising efforts for the Royal Children's Hospital and organize fun social events for our members, we are looking for help with the following positions:
Photo Coordinator - you would work with the AWARE Editor, the Website Director and the Historian to manage AWA photo files. Please contact Tracee Veenstra here if you are interested in this position.
Graphic Designer - you would assist in the design and artwork of various AWA print material, such as invitations, fliers and programs. If you have knowledge and experience in graphic design, or know someone who does, we would love to talk to you! Please contact Cindy Hawkins here if you would like to find out more.
Website Designer - do you have special expertise in designing and maintaining websites? If you would like to help work on the AWA website or would just like to take part on the website committee, please contact AWA president Sandy Sandefur here. Knowledge of JOOMLA would be helpful but not required.
