About the AWA
The American Women's Auxiliary to the Royal Children's Hospital was established over 80 years ago as an opportunity to bring American women and friends of America living in Melbourne together.
Our purpose is two-fold. As an Auxiliary to the Royal Children's Hospital, we provide support through fundraising and volunteer efforts. As a social organisation, we provide friendship and support to both new and long time members.
Over the years, our organisation has raised over $4 million and provided thousands of hours volunteering at the Royal Children's Hospital. We have assisted thousands of women as they connect with others and make their home here in Melbourne.
Through our website, Stars & Stripes Newsletter and bi-monthly AWAre Magazine, we keep our members up-to-date on social events, activity groups, fundraising and volunteer opportunities.
We celebrate our cultural heritage with socials around many major American Holidays and host two or three fundraising events each year to
Our
Vision:Making a difference in the lives of
others.
The AWA does this by raising money for the Royal Children's Hospital and
providing opportunities for American's to connect with one another and
celebrate our cultural heritage.
